Meet Hemi...a 6 year old kitty with Cerebellar Hypoplasia, a congenital condition which affects control of intentional movements. Cats with CH can have mild signs, like head bobbing when eating, or they can be more severely affected like Hemi. He is a very sweet and special boy, but has never been able to sit up like a normal cat or stand or walk. He has a very loving family and a wonderful life, but Hemi is taking on a new challenge now. He has started rehab at Pawsitive Steps! So far, he is doing basic assisted exercises like sitting up and standing with the help of his folks. He enjoys massage, stretching, laser therapy and acupuncture. Yesterday, he tried out some new equipment at the office. He seems to like sitting more upright and is getting himself more sternal with his elbows under him in just 1 week. We will keep you posted on his progress.
