Meet Hunter! Hunter is an ultra loving 1 year old pure breed yellow lab with an extremely high play drive. He is an amazing running partner, loves to swim, and play with his toys. He will retrieve the ball non stop and you need to take his toys away for him to calm down. Hunter has been evaluated by two search and rescue handlers who think hes an ideal candidate for SAR work. Hunter is extremely intelligent and he can learn anything.....like how to open doors, work the ice dispenser or pull his food container out from under the shelf. Hunter doesnt need to access the couch from the front. Hes just as happy to go vertical and access it from the back.....earning him the nickname Tiger. Hunter is smaller and seems to shed less than most labs. He rarely barks and he loves to snuggle. Hunter gets along great with other dogs (as you can see from the pics of him with the dogs in his wonderful foster home), but his puppiness may be too much for an older or more fragile K9 family members. He knows how to use the doggy door, but he doesnt know how to ask to go out if its closed. Hunter is food motivated, which sometimes leads to counter-surfing. His forever family will need to continue to work with him so that he can continue to grow and excel at his awesomeness!
