Meet James the VALOR programs resident dog whisperer. He and G hit it off immediately. We were with five veterans today learning to train dogs so theyre more adoptable. Most of the dogs I watched in training today were court acquisitions and involved in dogfighting rings and such. Incredibly sweet dogs. Many of them with some brutal scars. Gander was able to show them what a finished dog is capable of doing. And I think we did our best to demonstrate what a powerful human-canine connection can be like. A couple of the vets are looking toward getting their own service dog at some point. The humane Chicago and VALOR staff are awesome caring people. We gave the veterans pay it forward copies of In Dogs We Trust as an early graduation present.
