Meet Pits (gray/white) and Bullet (brown/white). They have become permanent residents at The Animal Clinic and are in desperate need of a home. I know its highly unlikely that theyd be adopted together...but itd be beyond incredible if they were. Pits is approximately 5 years old and would be ideal in a one dog/no other animal household. That includes cats. She loves her buddy Bullet, but anything smaller than her would definitely become a chew toy unfortunately. I wouldnt trust her around tiny grabby kids unsupervised either. Other than that, shes a very loving and playful pooch. Shell run with you a short distance, but will get bored quickly and saunter gingerly. That could be only because shes been behind a cage for so long (about 2 years). She was also recently diagnosed with a mast cell tumor (common in the breed). I still believe she has a decent amount of years left in her though. Please dont let her spend her remaining years cooped up. Bullet, the big man on campus, was accidentally shot at a point in his life, but hes ok now. Hes about 4 or 5 years old too...but he will always have his puppy exuberance (70 lb puppy that is). Sadly, his activity must be limited, especially since hes slightly larger than he used to be. Any extra strenuous exercise, which he is willing to do, would leave him a little sore the next day. So prepare for a future of pain and inflammation medication. Bullet is also heartworm positive, another reason to take it easy with him. However, any dog residing at the clinic is on Heartgard, so both he AND Pits have been taken care of since being there. Bullet is super friendly and can be an overstuffed lap dog. But monitor him closely and dont give him treats around other dogs. He gets VERY defensive about his cookies. Otherwise, hes docile and likes to play. Thank Lauren Wilson Dawson for these pictures. She loves these 2 bullies too and we are all rooting for them to find a great home. Drop by to meet them. Theyre both fixed and fully vaccinated. The fee to take them is $50 each. That covers the cost of 6 months Heartgard. That price isnt that big of an investment for those serious about rescuing these 2 great doggies.
