Meet this Fridays Featured Fan - Amy King! PB: How did you find out about Pure Barre? AK: I had been looking for a core strengthening work out for a couple of years, after my physical therapist recommended it for my herniated discs. I stumbled upon Pure Barre online about a year ago... In fact, my husband gave me two of the DVDs for Christmas 2012. I found Pure Barre on Facebook, and got the update of the Rockville studio opening and immediately purchased my first month. And I have yet to open the two DVDs! :) PB: What advice would you give to a person attending their first Pure Barre class? AK: I would say to relax and come into class ready to be motivated and push yourself. You will surprise yourself with how strong you really are. All of the instructors are incredible… take advantage of their knowledge and let them help you make adjustments. Oh, and be ready to shake! PB: How many classes do you take each week? AK: As many as possible! I usually do 4-6 classes each week. Its kind of addicting! PB: What is your favorite part of the Pure Barre workout and why? AK: I love that Pure Barre is very focused. In the past, when I would run on the treadmill, I was either bored or thinking about all of the other stuff I could/should have been doing...which was not relaxing. With barre, I really concentrate on each movement to get the most out of the workout. Its an hour of my day that I truly have just for me. PB: What results have you seen? AK: I noticed a difference after my sixth class. Now, after almost 30 classes, Ive noticed my core is a lot stronger. My arms, legs and abs are much more toned. I would say the 3 major accomplishments for me, so far: 1. 90 second plank, 2. Pulling into a Boat Pose, and 3. No more inner-thigh-rub (we ALL know what that is!). Thank you, Amy! We are so incredibly happy to have you as part of our Pure Barre family :)
