Meeting Ed came at a time where I started to question myself creatively. The situation I was in pressures around me, the politics, the manipulations and BS was wearing me down. The examples of success I was living through were in opposition to my personal creative instincts and my own belief system. I was insecure about my work, and trying to look for a superficial kind of cool which I felt was so far away from me, and hating the person I was becoming. Then Ed came in and he created for me a new way of working so different and positive. I was listening to a lot of Disco at the time and Ed was an amazing Disco producer and the 1st EP took from that. But when the band came in all with a rock background, and with different styles of playing, he taught us not to break each other down, play power games, and find fault in each other, (the curse of many bands) but rather search for our uniqueness and to appreciate each other for our flaws and all the ways that we dont fit within the lines. And that is what you hear today, an album that is in my opinion not a cookie cutter radio album, not an attempt to catch some trend, or a four to the floor club hit, but a collected memory of what who we are what we experienced and the moments we wanted to express at the time. Not trying to be particularly cool. Not trying to grab your attention for attention sake, a steady kind of story telling that abides to no rules but the personalities of the people who created and lived these stories. Me, Box, Loop, Ed, Atom, and bunch of other collaborators coming to fill in the blanks. It is a collective memory, a morality tale, and the work of a very good producer that understands the value of each person and that great work is rarely because of the ego of any individual. Now hes in China for a few days, so come and meet this funny Roman living in Berlin called Rodion. Friday night at MIgas, and Saturday at Arkham. Someone who in my opinion, deserves to get a round of applause.
