Meeting update: Never have I been more impressed and privileged to be in the company of such well informed , genuine and united people! Those who came to tonights meeting , public and Councillors alike, demonstrated a passion to fight to save something precious! You should all be so proud of yourselves!!! Attendance was 42 which was amazing - the room was full! My heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Cllr. Ian Geldard, a young man who faced a barrage of questions almost single handed, but has taken all of our points on board and, together with Cllr. Kevin Thompson - is going to pull out all the stops tomorrow at DCC to delay the demolition until such times that the public have had an opportunity to be consulted. We can now only cross our fingers and wait! My only negative comment is my utter contempt and disgust at the apology sent by Cllr. Barbara Graham (Tudhoe ward representative) for her absence at the meeting - Quote - I will not attend as its being held in a pub - and you can tell them that! This woman has shown utter contempt for everyone who voted for her by this one statement! Many thanks to everyone who came and showed their united support tonight and not forgetting the lady who has worked tirelessly, doing all of the admin on the fb pages, despite being house-bound with terrible disability - Sue Gray. We couldnt have got this far without you!!!!!
