Melbourne City Council have refused a permit for the tower that would have domineered over the old Fletcher Jones building on Queen/Flinders St, citing a number of ways in which the tower would adversely affect the recently heritage listed building, as well as its heritage neighbours up Queen St. Good to see council officers sticking up for our heritage planning rules and saying no to minimally setback facadism.
