Melissa, Kim (the girls) and Karen did it again today!! They - TopicsExpress

Melissa, Kim (the girls) and Karen did it again today!! They educated the customers in front of Dyvigs pet Shoppe about the pet store/puppy mill connection. It was a good day for it too, tonight was the Ames Homecoming Parade and lots of people came by as they were trying to find a spot. Tonight, we protested in honor of Miss Libby. Libby was rescued in July 2013 from a puppy mill. She was only ever known as #02, which is tattooed in her ear. She was with the rescue Four Paws: (https://facebook/FourPawsAnimalRescue) and had to have life saving surgery for pyometra. She was thought to be around 8 but the vets think she is closer to 12. She was a mere 3 pounds when she entered foster care with Karen and spent a few months with Karen. At first, the vets thought Libby would lose the ability to walk because of years of being trapped in a tiny cage and luxating patellas and would require a wheelchair. Libby learned how to walk and run and play and went from 3 pounds to 7 pounds when she was adopted on September 15 2013. The best part of Libbys story (besides being rescued) is the fact that her foster mom and adoptive mom have become very good friends and so Libby is spoiled by two families. Libby is thriving and is resilient and happy and is best friends with her fur sister Kara who was also a mill survivor. They are inseparable. Libby is loved by many.
