This Saturday! *RGMC Monthly Event, Road Rally & Fly-In* *November 2nd* This years family-friendly, Doran-style Road Rally will conclude with an Awards Banquet (aka picnic) at the Belen Municipal Airport (Alexander Airport on your GPS).RGMC will provide plates and flatware, drinks and necessities, hot-dogs and burgers will be available on-site.Club members should bring a dish to share (such as a salad or desert.Or both).Belen will provide the grill, tables, chairs and entertainment. Belen EAA hosts the open-house as a fly-in, featuring antique and experimental airplanes, military helicopters, sky-diving demonstrations and (most important) classic cars.Private, secure parking for Mustangs will be provided. The open house starts at 8 AM for those who enjoy that sort of thing and dont want to wait for the rest of us doing the Rally.This event is an annual tradition in Belen. They are not really doing this just for the Doran family. Belen Municipal Airport is located about two (2) miles west of Belen off I-25 at exit 191 on Camino del Llano, the second (middle) Belen exit on I-25. *The Rally -* Gather all Classic Mustangs at the Aircraft Viewing Area on the South-West side of the ABQ Sunport at 9:45 AM on Saturday, November 2nd.Instructions will be distributed.Discussions will ensue.Arguments will occur, and the first car will probably begin the rally at 10 AM.In Doran Family tradition, the Rally will be new, different and interesting - but this time, not as difficult as in the past.Awards and trophies, however, are guaranteed not to be mundane. The ABQ Sunport Aircraft Viewing Area is just off of University Ave, out behind the Rental Car Return and before the Snake sculpture.Look for the signs for the Aircraft Viewing Area.Drive I-25 south to Sunport Blvd exit, drive east on Sunport to Rental Car Return / University Blvd exit, drive south on University to Access Rd, turn east on Access Rd just before the rental car return facility, follow Access Rd around past Eclipse Aerospace, past Southwest Airlines Call Center, past everything until you see the sign and parking lot for Aircraft Viewing Area. The Rally will start from here.
