Members Night at the Tulsa Botanical Garden - Saturday, Aug. 10 Garden members are invited for a special night at the Garden to view the night sky and Perseid meteor shower. BA Sidewalk Astronomer will bring telescopes for viewing the moon and other objects prior to watching the meteor shower. Arrive between 8 and 8:30 p.m. to set up your lawn chairs and enjoy a quick walk around the lake. Learn about ancient astronomy, when reading the sky with the naked eye was vital for survival, in a presentation from BA Sidewalk Astronomer from 8:30 -9:30 p.m.. Kids (and parents too) can make a planisphere (star chart) and then go outside and learn how to use it for reading the night sky. Free for Garden members, $5 for non-members but registration is required.
