Members, make a case for or against: Many of the great fighters - TopicsExpress

Members, make a case for or against: Many of the great fighters had the same trainer for most or all of their career. Also, does that make the trainer great? Alton Merkerson trained Roy Jones most of his career, but Alton is not great; he did nothing with Derrick Gainer; Ali had Dundee; Ray Leonard had Dundee but Dundee had several other very good fighters. Hearns had Steward and Steward was great. Floyd has his dad and Roger, are any of them great? Does a great trainer have to have many success stories or does he pour all of himself into one fighter and they become great together? - Yo! Trav
