Members of Freedom of Road Riders, My name is Bill - TopicsExpress

Members of Freedom of Road Riders, My name is Bill Treetop Duncan. I am writing this letter to introduce myself and my proposed cabinet to you all. I am a 6 year member of this great organization, however I have been involved supporting this organization and learning from the leaders for the past 16 years. When first introduced to FORR I was serving in the greatest military on earth. During and after which I took the time to build a family that are very supportive and also members of FORR. I also needed to focus on establishing my own tree business. Six years ago is when I knew I could finally focus the amount of energy required into my passion of fighting for motorcyclists’ rights and safety in Missouri. I am also a member of the MRF, and do everything I can to support our National MROs. In the 16 years that I have been around FORR, while not privy to everything behind the scenes, I have witnessed it go from a strong organization full of folks driven to keep legislation off of their bodies and their bikes, to an organization filled with apathy, folks with hidden agendas, puppet masters and entirely too much dictatorship. Closed door meetings, and a lot of the old we have always done it this way or that way. Now is the time that we all need to buckle down and realize that we are not an MC or a social club, rather we are and always have been an SMRO. I realize and respect that every one of us have joined this organization for our own reasons. We all have different things we want to gain by being a part of it, but our common goal MUST be motorcyclists’ rights and safety. What I want to see for FORR, and the reason I am running for Chairman is: An organization that instead of continuously making more rules to govern ourselves, we take that energy and direct it at our real purpose in the Capitol. With the Grey Beards that have paved our way for us at our side, and the younger members that are being handed the torch to carry on. I truly believe that the knowledge possessed by this organization in the heads of our Grey Beards and the new ideas of our younger members, together we can propel this organization into the future. In that future of the old and the new taking back our freedoms, there will be no closed door meetings...there will be no misc. categories when it comes to our funds. There will be FULL DISCLOSURE to every member of Freedom of Road Riders® Inc. I have led an amazing Local for the past 3 1/2 years (Local 24) and in that time we have tripled in size and we have supported our endeavor as an organization both financially and in man power with big showings at every lobby day, demo days, Lincoln days and anything else we could do. My local houses the most former state chairmen, state officers and it is also home to 7 Engineers of Freedom, myself being one of them. In the past 16 years I have soaked up the knowledge of all of these people, and I have learned a tremendous amount from very many of you. I want to lead the membership of this organization at the state level in the way that I led the members of Local 24, into a bright amazing future. I have very carefully chosen my cabinet... Ronda Felts is the most headstrong and passionate person I have ever met in my life. She holds the same drive as I do, and wants to get this organization back on the right path. She is a 15 year member and has held the positions of President, Secretary, Treasurer, CC Rep, Legislative Rep, Product Line Manager and Newsletter Editor at the local level at one time or another. She has received the “Outstanding Member” award while in Local 29, has been nominated for the District 4 “Misfit Award” and has been recipient of the revered Engineer of Freedom Award. Ronda was also one of the very lucky members that were chosen to represent FORR at our Nations Capitol. She and her husband (who is a Lifetime member of FORR) recently opened a new Local (47) in the Platte Woods area with the help of grey beards and newbies who share our passion of Freedom Fighting. Cheryl Singleton was a big part of forming a brand new local that also believes in getting back to the grass roots of what our organization stands for. I have seen her Local (3) donate monies to the PAC fund at both of their first CC meetings. Under her guidance and with the help of others, that Local is already making a big name for themselves in the support of FORR. Cheryl is a 6 year member (recruited by her husband Dean through Katherine Foxs driving force). She has held the position of Secretary for 3 years, CC Rep. Pro tem after the passing of the late Ty Cashell and was the product manager for Local 27. Since opening Local 3 with her husband and other family members, she has held the office of Secretary and CC Rep. Lynne Adkins is also a very dear friend of mine; she will be running as the corporate treasurer. Our funds are what keep us moving and growing. I know that she is the BEST to keep them safe and well documented. Lynne is a 7 year member and has been a Secretary for two years and is currently in her second term as Treasurer for her Local (25). When it comes to the officers I have selected to run with me, I did my homework. I asked the folks in the best place to answer from who they think the BEST are. And these three ladies always came up. They, like myself truly believe in this organization and only want the BEST for our future. I ask that you do not take this vote lightly, and you do not vote on your personal feelings towards anyone on any running cabinet. Instead, only vote on the cabinet that you truly believe is BEST to push us forward into the future of motorcyclists’ rights and safety. Thank you very much for your time, Bill Treetop Duncan
