Memo to Governor, FIR sought against Info Commissioner I along with RTI activists Saleem Beg, D K Dixit, Anupam Pandey, D D Sharma, Akhilesh Saxena, Mahendra Agrawal etc today presented a memorandum to the Governor of UP about the criminal case registered against activist Ashok Kumar Goel at Hazratganj police station. The memorandum said we went to the Information Commission office and made a detailed enquiry at their end. It proved that no criminal offence had actually taken place in Sri Bisht’s office. Even Sri Bisht accepted that when Sri Goel behaved improperly he was sent out of the room, after which the official work went uninterrupted. Hence such an FIR under such serious criminal sections like assault on a policeman, trying to snatch his official weapon, damage to government property etc by an elderly person in the same room as registered by a police Sub inspector proves to be a prima-facie concocted story. Hence, we have demanded registration of FIR against Sri Bisht and others as well as CBCID investigation of the matter.
