Memorial Day Events 2014 Bar Harbor – Memorial Day Ceremony at the town pier 10amFollowing the ceremony will be coffee and donuts and tours of a Coast Guard patrol vessel. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held at the George Edwin Kirk American Legion Post 25 at 70 Cottage Street. Call Jennifer Wright at 801-2566 ext 12 for more information. Blue Hill – The Memorial Day Parade starts at 10am at the Duffy Wescott Post 85 American Legion Hall to the Seaside Cemetery with a stop at the Mill Brook Bridge for a wreath laying. Brooklin – The Memorial Day Parade starts at 9am from the school driveway to the town office. Bucksport – The Memorial Day Parade starts at 4 at the American Legion Hall on Elm Street and ending at the Veterans Memorial with a service. Castine – The Memorial Day Parade starts at 10 on Court Street at the Cemetery entrance and heads to the Town Common to the Town Dock. Cherryfield – A program will take place at 1 at the Charles Wakefield Memorial Bandstand. In case of rain, will be held in the Legion Hall. A parade follows at 2pm to Stewart Park then to the Civil War monument in the old Pine grove Cemetery. A free supper follows for all marchers, veterans & next of kin of deceased veterans. Deer Isle – A Memorial Day observance will be held at the Mill Pond on Bridge Street at 10am. Ellsworth – The Memorial Day Parade gathers at 9:30 and steps off at 10am. Line up is at the Bryant E Moore Community Center parking lot on State Street heading to the Union River Bridge for a wreath laying ceremony and ends at the City Hall parking lot. Franklin – The Memorial Day Parade is at 9:30 and proceeds west to Memorial Square at the intersection of routes 182 and 200. Gouldsboro – A Memorial day service is at 9am at the Veterans Memorial near the Prospect Harbor Women’s Club building. Hancock – The Memorial Day Parade is at 9:30am at the Hancock Community Center to the Monument lot. Islesford – The Memorial Day Parade is at 8:30 meeting at the Ashley Bryan School. Lamoine – There will be a Memorial Day service at the Veterans Memorial near the Lamoine Town Hall at 10 am. Northeast Harbor – Lurvey Wright Post 103 of the American Legion will hold its parade starting at 10:30, beginning at Northeast Harbor Elementary School and proceeding down Main Street. A ceremony will follow at the Joseph T.Musetti Veterans Memorial Park across from the marina. Prospect – A Memorial Day Parade is at noon beginning on Route 1A near Prospect Center. Searsport – The Memorial Day Parade starts at 9 am and will leave from the Dan Rich Public Safety building. It will end at Mosman Park. Southwest Harbor – American Legion Post 69 has a parade to begin with a 9am ceremony at the intersection of Main Street and the Seal Cove Road. The parade will travel to Veteran’s Park, Stockton Springs – The Memorial Day parade will begin at 10:30am on Main Street. Surry – A Memorial Day observance is scheduled for 1pm at the Surry Memorial Park located at the corner of North Bend Road. Winter Harbor – The Memorial Day Parade begins at 10:30am at the Winter Harbor IGA and will proceed to Memorial Park alongside the former town office.
