Memorial Hospital Sponsoring Black Friday Blood Drive! The need for blood doesn’t take a break during the holidays, so this Thanksgiving season begin a new family tradition of showing thanks by donating blood. Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Conference Center of the Medical Arts Building located at 721 West 13th Street in Jasper. Appointments for specific donation times are encouraged. All who attempt to donate will receive a free Red Cross potholder and celebrity chef recipes, while supplies last. Appointments can be made online at redcrossblood.org (enter sponsor code 0243493) or by calling the Memorial Hospital Marketing Department at 812-996-2333. Anyone who is 17 years of age or older, weighs at least 110 lbs., has not donated in the past 56 days (112 days for double red blood cell donations), and is in good general health is urged to donate blood. Individuals who have questions concerning medical eligibility may call the American Red Cross at 1-800-RED CROSS.
