Memory of 84: I was sitting in left field at the game when the Tigers clinched the pennant. I threw a roll of toilet paper at the end of the game that streamed down on to the field. The toilet paper showed up in broadcast footage of the game for years. Many fans jumped on to the field and were tearing up chunks of the grass. I was about to jump on to the field when I was stopped by a Detroit Police officer. He instructed not to jump down. He ripped up a chunk of left field grass and handed it to me. I planted that grass in my front yard. What an incredible season! What an experience for a 13 year old that truly loved the game!
