Mens Wish Is Not Gods Will... I wish that all of you were as I am. But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that. - 1Cor 7:7 When a minister fails to put the line of demarcation between his wish and Gods will he end up lording it over the flock of God. Paul knew this and he often put that demarcation in his epistles to the brethren; But I[Paul] speak this by permission, and not of commandment...Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful. I suppose therefore that this is good for the present distress, I say, that it is good for a man so to be...And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction...But she is happier if she so abide, after my judgment: and I think also that I have the Spirit of God. (1 Corinthians 7:6, 25-26, 35, 40 KJV) • When we take our own judgement and preach/teach it as Gods judgement, we cast a snare upon the people of God, lording it over their faith. No wonder Paul asked the Galatia brethren saying, O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? (Galatians 3:1-2 KJV) > It doesnt matter how right and good mens judgements are, as Paul also said; ...let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged. (Romans 3:4 KJV) • Men in their wish/judgement teach people to observe the law under Grace. They can quote all the portions of the bible to confuse the gullible, yet let God be true, but every man a liar; they tell you how you rob God by not paying tithes meant for only the nation of Israel, and teaching those saved my grace through faith to pay tithes, yet let God be true, but every man a liar; they preach and teach the scriptures as though the Messiah and the Comforter has not come, yet let God be true, but every man a liar. > Some ministers has sown fear of wrath of God in the lives of their congregation if they dare question or disobey the doctrines of their church, they only deceive those who dont know that the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God (James 1:20 KJV). • In our text, Paul said, I wish that all of you were as I am. But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that. > Pauls wish/desire/judgement is not Gods will for those in Christ Jesus. Your churchs wish is not Gods will for the people of God. Your pastors or priests wish is not Gods will for you; what you should it to by the mercies of God present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:1-2 NKJV) • Under the New Testament, God has not ordained any man or woman to hear from Him for you. You yourself has the same right everyone in Christ have to prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. You need not to seek any prophet to know the will of God; It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me. (John 6:45 NKJV) > Even Jesus Himself dont want you to ask Him to ask the Father for you; In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God. (John 16:26-27 NKJV) • Paul said, I wish that all of you were as I am. But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that. You have your own gift and calling of God, stir it up and quit following men; You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men. Brethren, let each one remain with God in that state in which he was called. (I Corinthians 7:23-24 NKJV) > Everyone in Christ Jesus is gifted and called of God; Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. (Romans 12:6-8 NKJV) • Let no one use his own gift and calling to lord it over your faith, telling you to be or do their wish. As Jesus says, Don’t let anyone call you ‘Rabbi,’ for you have only one teacher, and all of you are equal as brothers and sisters. And don’t address anyone here on earth as ‘Father,’ for only God in heaven is your spiritual Father...The greatest among you must be a servant. (Matthew 23:8-9, 11 NLT) > The greatest among us is not the ones with titles and positions, but those who serves us; Jesus told them, “In this world the kings and great men lord it over their people, yet they are called ‘friends of the people.’ But among you it will be different. Those who are the greatest among you should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a servant. Who is more important, the one who sits at the table or the one who serves? The one who sits at the table, of course. But not here! For I am among you as one who serves. (Luke 22:25-27 NLT) • When you fail to know who you are in Jesus and what you have by faith, men will teach you to become or do their wish. Mens wish is not Gods will you must live by. We are called to only observe all things that Jesus commanded us - Matt 28:20. > When you know this truth in Christ Jesus, men can preach or teach their wish and back them with some portions of the bible, yet let God be true, but every man a liar. • I charge you brethren to Examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves. Surely you know that Jesus Christ is among you; if not, you have failed the test of genuine faith...For we cannot oppose the truth, but must always stand for the truth. (2 Corinthians 13:5, 8 NLT) > Do you really believe that Jesus is among us to guide us, and not any man? He wants to relate with you as your elder brother, not your boss. He even said, Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:29 NLT) + I may not know how long you have labored under men, today I pray that God will give you grace to walk free and follow Jesus of Nazareth; May you henceforth find that rest that Jesus gives. Amen! Let no one cast a snare/spell upon you: follow Jesus Christ of Nazareth!
