Mens World League Volleyball is coming to PEI ! Team Canada will host Bulgaria’s national team in back-to-back Federation of International Volleyball (FIVB) World League matches at Credit Union Place’s Eastlink Arena on June 12 and 13, 2015 The matches will be televised nationally on Rogers Sportsnet and also internationally. The announcement was made during a media conference in the lobby of Credit Union Place on Tuesday morning. “The top 32 teams in the world play in this league and are pooled in groups of four,” explained Volleyball P.E.I. Executive Director Cheryl Crozier. When asked what calibre of play fans can expect to see, Crozier offered: “These guys are very professional players. This is the players job and as they play volleyball for a living, both with Team Canada and a lot of them have professional contracts in Europe in the off-season. The players are quick, powerful, they get high above the net and it’s going to be an amazing level of volleyball.” Host AGM It was also announced that Volleyball Canada will hold its annual general meeting in Summerside from June 10 to 14.
