Mental health services will receive a £15 million funding boost - TopicsExpress

Mental health services will receive a £15 million funding boost over the next three years. The additional investment to improve mental health services will include more staff to work with children and young people and the establishment of a mental health innovation fund. The Mental Health Innovation fund will look at better ways to deliver services, particularly at primary care level, and ensure services are working together to help people who are in distress, or experiencing trauma. It will help people get better held at an early stage of their illness and also improve quality through training and development. The number of people working in child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) has increased by 45% since 2008, but demand for services has increased with better identification of children and young people with problems, better diagnosis and more people being prepared to come forward and ask for help.
