Mercury retrograde teaching Mercury has now begun its retrograde movement at 18 degrees Scorpio. It will travel all the way back to 2 degrees Scorpio over the next 3 weeks till Nov 10th. One thing I like to do with any retrograde cycle is to reflect upon the inner and outer dynamics that were unfolding THE LAST TIME that planet was at the degree it will go back to. Oct 1st was the last date that Mercury was at 2 degrees Scorpio. It will return there in a few weeks. Consider: What information were you associating with at that time? What kind of ideas were being considered, what kind of communication was taking place? What kind of thought forms were generated during that time? How were you mentally placing the pieces of your life together; what was the nature of your intellectual organization of reality at that time? All of that is now being reflected upon, revised, revisited (all re words). One process that is implicit with Mercury is how we each create whole ideas about reality through piecing together various sets of logical constructs. When some new piece of data comes in and we dont know how to fit this new data into the existing construct, we either need to take the whole construct down and re-build it, or (and this is usually impossible, though what we often attempt to do at first) find a way to fit the new information into the existing construct. Open to what is presenting itself and let that lead the way instead of forcing your way through. Its so much more fun, easeful and interesting that way! Remember when you were a child and ANYTHING could be an answer? More information and opportunities will present themselves always. This entire retrograde cycle is taking place in Scorpio. For those astrologically inclined, consider where the 2nd to 18th degrees of Scorpio are in your chart. The house(es) that Mercury is moving through corresponds to the areas of your life that are in question. This is where there is a feeling that there is yet more to see about ourselves; a deeper and more clear perspective that is starting to bubble up. The essence of Scorpio is to find greater power WITHIN. Our deepest power comes from aligning with our souls purpose first, and letting everything else follow suit. Invite your destiny. Choose for these few weeks to be empowering and clarifying of your souls purpose. Let all activity, plans and ideas that are not aligned with ease to fall away. Our capacity for this simply rests in our moment to moment choice making. The very best is coming your way. Allow it. This is a great time to ask the deeper questions about ourselves; to seek more self knowledge. Mercury in Scorpio is about focusing awareness within. Whenever positive attention is focused within, the expansion that results is ALWAYS abundant and healing. All expansion in the universe is a result of compression. Compression is when infinite potential and infinite possibilities are all contained within a single point of focus. Nature reflects this principle perfectly. A seed represents compressed potential. That seed is nourished by the elements and grows into a plant. The plant eventually reaches its edge of expansion and produces many more seeds. All those seeds then produce many more plants etc. When we draw our mental energies within, the expansion that occurs in our life is always replenishing and abundant. That is the way of nature and it is how we are nurtured and supported by the great tao. However when we rush towards quick results and try to force our way through, we only create stress and exhaustion. Seek self knowledge first and the rest WILL HAVE TO follow.
