Merry Christmas Eve!! We have had a busy day already and are just now heading to my parents to celebrate Christmas. We started the day with little sleep for all 3 of us. Kaylee had a rough night of sleep after a late night getting home for another Christmas celebration. She got about 6 hours when she is used to 12. That kinda tells you how the day wanted to start! We had a 9am appt with her orthopedic doctor. We love this man and all he has done for Kaylees tiny feet. Good news and not-so-good news: her feet are doing well overall, for which we are thankful, but they are showing some tightness. This means that she most likely will have another surgery (tendon release) in the next year. We will stretch and brace/bar the best we can to prolong it though. We will go back for a checkup in 3 months. Hopefully we dont have to go back sooner. If we notice her feet not fitting into her braces as well, skin breakdown, or lack of progress in motor progression, we will go back sooner than 3 months to check them again. Kaylee has higher chances of relapse right now since she doesnt have the movement that other Clubfeet kiddos have. She is paralyzed below the knee. After the doctor was aqua therapy. She was a bundle of joy. (Insert sarcasm!) She didnt do bad, and worked some, but was crying towards the end. Tired and hungry. I would cry, too! So I got her changed and we went to see the fishy tank in the front area. As we were leaving after that, a lady caught us and asked us if we could come over to where a man was standing with two big trash bags. The man looked familiar so I asked his name! And who was it but Mike Matheny!!! The Cardinals Manager!! He brought backpacks with teddy bears in them for the kiddos in the hospital/getting therapy! It was so sweet and just made our day. He autographed the ball on the teddy and took a picture with us. We were so thankful or that happy moment after the rougher start our morning had had. So we are now at my parents and will be enjoying the relaxing evening. Have a great night everyone!
