With more than 10 million Filipinos working overseas, it is obvious that this Christmas (and New Year), a lot of them will be away from their families and loved ones. Why is this happening? Simple. Because they were forced to work abroad due to the lack of jobs in the Philippines. And why are jobs scarce in the Philippines? Because the 1987 Constitution has made it difficult for foreign direct investors to easily come into the Philippines with our 60/40 and other anti-FDI restrictions.
