Message - Hi please post :) Im due to have my first baby in a few months and was trying to sit down with my partner to work out details of the birth as there could be a chance of me going early. Im 19 and really want my mum there through the labor for a couple of reasons. One of the main reasons is when push comes to shove I know she will stick up for what I want and not let doctors/nurses pester me into things like they normally try and do. Whereas my partner is more of a quiet person and I dont think he will be firm with the doctors, preferring me to deal with them well he sits back. Ive tried explaining to him my reasons, Ive tried coming up with a compromise but all he has said is he doesnt want her there but wont tell me his reasons or have any sort of in depth conversation with me about anything to do with making plans for the baby. Im wanting to know if anyone has any advice on what I should do, has anyone else had the same thing with their partners? Oh and has anyone else had their mums with them and how they found it? TIA
