Message Preached by Minister Tracey Woodley. October 20,13 Sermon Title: The Lord is my Shepard Scripture Basis: Psalms 40: 1-3 We cant make it on this christian journey by ourselves. The most famous Psalms(Psalms 23) it is more then something to memorize it assures us christians the Lord will take care of us. We need to depend on the Shepherd for everything in our Life. The lord will lead us that very path in our life. David is saying: The Lord is My Shepherd! (Its Personal). It is no other relationship like God. No one else is with you like the Lord. Hes my Right Now Shepherd! He is your shepherd and you should not want for anything. We struggle for status to keep up with the Joness. We all want to be recognized for our part. We fight to be Top Sheep- but we have to remember we are all His (Psalms 27:25). The thing that frightens us the most is that we dont know whats coming our way but Hes the same Shepard - Yesterday, Today and Forever! John 10:11 The Shepard gives his life for his sheep. He doesnt promise prosperity, growth, ect. sometimes God has to bring a storm to remind us where our help comes from. There are going to be some Dark Days( Marriage, Children, Bills. If we come back better on the job not chasing after men but men chasing after us. You have to make faith and prayer the point of marriage. When I mess up its good to know I can go to Jesus just as I am. Its because of his unfailing Love Im Blessed right now! Its packed with promise (23 Psalms). We must lean on his promise like David (have a heart after God). Have a personal relationship because hes the only one who will give you peace and open doors unimaginable. When God leads it lowers blood pressure, heals diabetes and other sicknesses. Are you here for the sake of the lord (Above and Beyond). Beyond things you think you cant do- Love your enemies (Above and beyond for Gods sake). Realize hes gonna do it. If you Praise him while your going through he will take care of you! The valley of the shadow of death is gone! There is going to be trials but let him reach way down and bring you up. He broke you but hes gonna bring you through. Hell break you to Fix you again! Were still covered by his rod and his staff. Though Im going through the shadow Im still Blessed. Praise Him in Season and out of Season. Praise him when your going Through!
