Message To All Students Of Federal Polytechnic, Ede. Hello! Hello!! My Fellow Students It is high time we think of how our school can be ranked the best polytechnic in Africa. It is the right time we can tatoo our school with image of great academic excellence and morality. This is the period we should be boastful and think of becoming a great ambassador of our GREAT EDE. This Federal Polytechnic, Ede is our school, whether outsiders perceive it as good or bad, I strongly believe it is ours. If you kidnap one American and request for one million dollars before you can set him free. The family of the kidnapped American will provide you that money as soon as practicable. They gave you the money not because you are smarter or stronger, but their fellow American should live rather than dying. If you place a gun near an American soldier brain in preparation to shoot him. Then you command the remaining millions of soldiers to drop their guns or bury their bombs. The soldiers will follow your instruction not because you alone can kill all of them but they want that American soldier to live. My fellow students!! I saw some of you when you abuse, curse, write or post against the school both on campus and on facebook. Is that what we are to do? I know you get angry sometime, but all we have to do is to control our mood and explain to our Comrades, Departmental Executives, powerful stakeholders who will amicably or friendly settle the matter without going gaga. My Friendly Students! Instead of insulting the school, why cant we deliberately use a day to appreciate a thing the school has once done. We are today on campus, we will leave tomorrow (after graduation). When we leave, we become automatically alumni who will represent the school in any field of occupation. The present Governor of Osun state; Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola is a product of Polytechnic, Ibadan. He governed this state for 4 years and now re-elected some months ago. He is today a great ambassador of Polytechnic of Ibadan where he was once a member of SUG. This same governor has been a Commissioner of Works in Lagos for two consecutive tenure of Asiwaju Bola Amed Tinubu which is equivalent to 8 years. So, he is the best HND holder in Nigeria today and the school is proud of him. My One and Only Students Let us think of Great EDE first before thinking about our various departments. I wonder when I see people giving honour to University of Ibadan calling it The Premier University. When something is called Premier, the simplest meaning is Number 1 thing. Some people call Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife (OAU) Oba Awon University. My Fellow Brilliant Students If you can remember when the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Dr. Ebele Goodluck Jonathan (GCFR) changed the name of University of Lagos (UNILAG) to Mashud Abiola University (MAU). The students of UNILAG said NO, and it was not change by the president. Because immediately after the change of the name from UNILAG to MAU; students of OAU jokingly said: we are OAU Oba Awon University, now we have a new wife MAU which is Mama Awon University. That makes UNILAG students to even refused totally because of the name. My Fellow Vibrant Students Some of you dont put school ID cards on your neck. Lets be proud of what you have with you. Your friend may be in OAU, UI, UNIBEN, UNILAG etc. When they shout Great Ife, Great Ibadan, etc then you should shout Great EDE. Because if you graduate here whether ND or HND, you are free to attend OAU, UI, UNILAG etc for a degree (BSc, B.A, B.Tech) or post graduate diploma, Master, PHD programmes. Then people will ask where was your alma mata; you will feel proud to say GREAT EDE. My Fellow Students Let me and you start saying GREAT EDE! both on campus and on facebook or any social media so that our alma mata can be the greatest in Africa.
