Message from a page member, Jeannie Wilson McHard. Hi everyone, Id like to ask your opinion on whether youd support a community orchard somewhere in Levengrove Park ? I mentioned it to the staff at the meeting on Thursday night and whilst they like the idea they would like to see more people support it before they put it in the Heritage Lottery application. Personally, I think a small orchard of Apple, Pear and Plum trees would be great to increase the biodiversity in the Park, it would also contribute to food donations to the Community foodbank, local people could learn new skills in looking after it and use of the fruit once it is harvested. Also local schools could then receive the seed to plant trees in their own grounds. For this idea to accepted we need community support, so over to you guys. Let me know whether youd like to support it or not. Thanks
