Message from newly appointed CEO 19th Oct 2014 Namaste! Effective from today, I am taking over the position of Chief Executive Officer of Cricket Association of Nepal. For me, it is an incredible undertaking to lead and serve Cricket Association of Nepal and I am optimistic that I will get immense support from Board of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). I believe I, will get strong support from Government,Ministry, Nepal Sports Council, Asian Cricket Council and the International Cricket Council and other key stakeholders. I am looking forward to working with all officials, administrators, coaches, umpires, field staffs of CAN and academies get into a proper plan for further development. I feel fortunate to understand the player’s requirements and problems and want to discuss with board for further development along with sustained plan. Our t20 status is not an achievement of a single day effort and I am very thankful to players, coaches, officials and other contributors who helped to climb this ladder directly and indirectly for more than six decades. Now, this is a beginning for me, we have long way to go. Being exposed with multi-cultural working environment, I have a strong corporate background; I am passionate to work in a team. Being a woman is only an additional excitement for me. And I am happy that, I am selected based on merit from competition. Of course, we have many issues and challenges, we need to work smartly how we continue to develop the game and maximize our opportunities. I do not present here the list of commitments because I believe everyone would support our actions in ground. We have to perceive cricket as a game of nation, which ties everyone’s heart without any interest. It can be an industry and we can make it viable career option for men and women. I will develop a vibrant management team and together we will look at the development aspect of it. Institutionalization process of Cricket Association of Nepal has begun professionally from today. More and more people at different spectrums have been providing strong encouragements for me to take over the pedals of Nepalese Cricket. With strong contemplation and taking advices, recommendations from the key stakeholders, I will prepare the roadmap and submit documented short term and long term strategic plans to the board. Thereafter I am sure I will endeavor to graduate our cricket to the level where it ought to be. Nepal is a developing nation, and still we are living in deficiency of our basic needs and priorities. But, still we are interested in playing, watching and supporting. If we see ourselves in the game, keep supporting and get united through the medium of game at any period of time we will be world champions one day. I want to extend my sincere appreciation to all the stakeholders for your support and your interest in us. I would like to thank CANs commercial partner, Sponsors, broadcast Partners, and other supporting partners for their support till now and expecting much more in the days to come. I am enthusiastic about starting long term partnership with all of you. I cannot ignore to make an appeal to all medias including online media and social networks to convey the vibrant and exciting spectacle to millions of Nepali cricket fans around the world. We need everyone’s support. Please join our hands to establish better foundation for cricket in our beautiful country. Thank you.
