Message from the Headmaster PYP/MYP Parent Conferences As you may know we regard education as a three-way partnership between students, parents and the school. A key element of that is Parent Consultations. We encourage all parents to attend these as they are an ideal opportunity to meet with teachers to discuss their child’s progress, find out how to support their child’s learning and raise any issue they may have about it. The best consultations happen when parents, students and teachers meet together and discuss these matters in an open and relaxed atmosphere.We are piloting a new approach to some of the Parent Consultations this year to enable as many parents as possible to attend, and give them sufficient time to see as many teachers as possible. Therefore on Tuesday 18th November, parents of students from EC1 to G10 will have the opportunity to book appointments with all teachers of their children. Appointment times will be available from 7.15am to 5.45pm, giving parents flexibility to make bookings to suit their schedule. Please note that on this day there are no lessons for students except those in G11 and G12. Buses will continue to run for G11 and G12 students in the morning and at 12.00pm.Although students should not come to normal lessons on Tuesday 18th November, MYP Students should come with their parents to all the consultations, so that there can be a three-way discussion between the parent, student and teacher. PYP students will not attend conferences with their parents this time.More information about this system will be sent to parents on Tuesday 11th November. We hope this will make it easier for parents to come to the school and meet with teachers at a time that suits them. We look forward to receiving your feedback after the meetings about whether this has been successful.
