Met US Deputy Secretary of Energy Mr. Daniel Poneman on 30th June and US Secretary of Commerce Ms. Penny Pritzker today on bilateral issues. This was our first Minister level interaction and we are keen to re-energize our partnership. We highlighted our Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi ji’s track-record of 12 years – skill, speed and scale, and emphasized our commitment for 24x7 power to all homes, industrial & commercial establishments, with a particular focus on renewable energy. We are working to collaborate with USA on technology for energy efficiency, smart grids and super critical thermal power plants. We also stressed on the need for low-cost long-tenor financing to make renewable energy, particularly solar, at scale, viable. We are committed to move ahead of signing MoUs alone, to on-ground execution and action! We are confident that the partnership will yield accelerated results.
