Met a charming older gentleman at Starbucks in St. Matts this morning who graduated from my high school just 20 years before me. He shared his table and chair and we talked of basketball and trips to New York City then he gave me his newspaper. My hours long wait for tires and brakes was just made a little better. I was feeling sad because I have no one Id call to come pick me up - my mom and dad are old and I am wary of their anger filled advice at this time in my life. My ex is taking my kids to Florida for spring break. My friends are fantastic - I know theyre sleeping in and have their own things going on. Im positive I could call any of them and theyd come rescue me, but self sufficient and reading on a Saturday morning is quite ok too. Plus I need to memorize lines. P.S. If its over another two hours - Im calling one of you!
