Metabolic Damage During repeated bouts of strength training, - TopicsExpress

Metabolic Damage During repeated bouts of strength training, such as using the exact same high intensity workouts each and everyday will most likely cause some sort of over training syndrome. Now if you or someone else programmed in various intensities throughout the week such as fluctuating the tempo of exercise, total volume lifted, rest periods or any other variable then the risk of over training is reduced; however, the risk is further heightened when one does not meet their exercise demands with proper nutrition. Metabolic damage can be a very serious consequence of eating too few nutrients each day while working out more and more to create that deficit. Thankfully you cant over stress your metabolism through strength training, but like I said if you dont match your bodys needs then it will do whatever it must to survive. Metabolic damage is characterized by slowing of your metabolism which will prevent any fat loss, rapid weight gain, hormonal dysfunction, anxiety, depression and the list can go on. Again simply put if youre working out seven days/week, maybe even doing some two a days, eating too few calories, and not resting then youre well on your way to metabolic damage. Please take a step back and REALLY look at what your currently doing. Is this something you can keep doing for years and years to come? Im not advocating to not work out seven days a week, since I generally do on a weekly basis; however, please make sure youre not constantly eating fewer and fewer calories each day. Ask someone for help or do some research it will go along way in helping you reach your goals! Stay Healthy my Friends!
