Mical Lee Culpeppers life was cut short at the young age of 27 near Truth or Consequences, NM. He was taken from his wife, his three young sons and his parents on Saturday May 5, 2012. Mical was born May 26th, 1984 in Denver, CO at 1:27pm, he weighing just over 7 pounds to Synthea Simonson and Lee Wayne Culpepper. Mical spent most of his life in Sierra County and was a 2002 graduate of Geronimo Trails High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 2002-2003. He married Bertha Alicia Ocon on January 25th, 2007. They had three handsome sons and had recently celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary. Mical moved his growing family to Las Cruces, NM in 2010. Mical was planning to begin college in the fall and to study to become a paralegal at Dona Ana Community College in Las Cruces, NM. Mical was a kind and wonderful person, he always had a smile on his face and was constantly spreading joy to others. He brought life and happiness to other peoples lives with his silly jokes and his beautiful personality. Mical had a compassionate and caring heart; he sought peace between friends and family members. He was not perfect but, he tried to do what was right in Gods eyes, especially in what turned out to be his last years. He was very respectful towards others, especially his elders. He had very strong, good morals and values. His dream was to raise his children to live a righteous life full of honesty and integrity. He wanted them to follow God and always do what is right in his eyes. Mical really enjoyed spending with his family. He played with his boys constantly, never wanting them out of his sight. Micals sons and his wife, Bertha, were the most important part of his life, encouraging him to constantly strive to provide a better life for them. Mical was the provider for his family working as a server at Dennys in TorC, NM and at IHOP while living in Las Cruces. Mical was growing by leaps and bounds and was making his family extremely proud. He became an active member of his local church and attended Heart for the World Church in Las Cruces, NM on a weekly basis. Mical helped baptize his wife, Bertha, in March of 2012 at the Heart for the World Church. He was immensely happy and proud of all the accomplishments he was achieving. He had come so far in his life and knew he had so much to give. Mical is survived by his wife of 5 years, Bertha Alicia, his three sons, Eduardo Alonso, 8, Mical Lee Jr., 4, and Gabriel Israel, 1. Mical is also survived by his father, Lee Culpepper of TorC, NM and his mother Synthea Simonson, of TorC and Las Cruces, NM, his sister, Briana Simonson and niece Kyleigh of Albuquerque, NM, his brother Alex Simonson, of Denver, CO. His step-brother is Eric Ontiveros of Las Cruces, NM, his sister, Stephanie Ontiveros, of TorC. He is survived as well by a large and loving extended family including uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and many others. Mical was preceded in death by his beloved Nana, Ruby Loper, his grandfather, Tom Smith and his grandparents, Jay and Virginia Culpepper. Mical Lee Culpeppers memorial service will be held Wednesday June 20, 2012 at 5:00 P.M. in the sanctuary of Full Gospel Tabernacle, 1300 South Broadway, Truth or Consequences, nm. Pastor Dale Walker and Pastor Johnny Terrazas from Heart for the World Church of Las Cruces will be officiating. A private burial and service for family and close friends will take place at a later date.
