Charged with five Class I felonies for eavesdropping with a penalty of 15 years each for recording police in Illinois. Allison was denied a court reporter during his hearing. Police confiscated his recorder. The Illinois eves dropping law protects police. Police are allowed to record citizens, but citizens are not allowed to record law enforcement.
