Michael Douglas reveals son Dylans acting demands WITH A family tree of acting greats it shouldn’t come as a big surprise that Michael Douglas’s son Dylan wants to follow in his father’s footsteps. Michael, 69, whose father Kirk started acting in the Forties, explained that despite Dylan being only 13 he has his eyes firmly on the prize and no longer thinks he needs to go to school. “Dylan doesn’t see any reason to do anything else because he wants to act,” Michael, who won Best Actor for his role in Wall Street in 1987, tells US TV host Jay Leno. “He doesn’t want to go to school or anything, he wants to be an actor. “He was at me the other day. He said, ‘Look dad, I’ve been president of my sixth grade, my seventh grade, I’m in eighth grade now and I’m president of the school.’ I said, ‘Dylan, I know, I’m so proud of you.’ He said, ‘Dad I’ve been on the honour roll for two years straight. You’ve seen me in Oliver when I played the Artful Dodger.’ I said, ‘I couldn’t see anyone else Dylan you were great.’ So he says to me, ‘Dad how about throwing me a bone?’ So I said, ‘Sure OK. We’ll work on it.’ So he’s negotiating with me.” Michael and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones are not sure if their son is a bit too eager. “It’s great. He’s just starting early but I’m a little worried about this no need for school thing.” Article published by express.co.uk/ in October 25, 2013
