Let me tell you why: We need someone who will not toady to the Tea Party. Mr. Cornyn is the primary example. Instead, we need someone who wishes to make his mark working to make Texas and the United States No. 1 again. In Texas we are behind in education, health care and income equality. In the U.S., we are no longer leaders in education, technology and transportation—China is. I personally witnessed the transformation, having first negotiated pollution control technology agreements in China in 1982 as a young Fortune 500 attorney, then seeing it again in 2012 when I rode the fastest train in the world - the MagLev. We have to search for U.S. workers to fill the high-tech jobs that we have—frequently having to hire from India or China. I will work to make education and job training a top priority. I will also work for immigration reform that includes the DREAM act and a way for those without documentation to have a path to legalization. It’s time for us to LEAD again! Let’s do it!
