Austin State University following high school. He met and later married Laura Phelan, his wife of 25 years, on June 24, 1989 in Nacogdoches. Michael and Laura spent many hours sharing his joys, like the Dallas Cowboys, and watching #24 Jeff Gordon run the track with NASCAR. With Laura and the girls they traveled, went to the beach and when he had the time, Michael enjoyed a round of golf. Family time was the best time, spoiling his girls, more especially his grandchildren, because they always made him smile! With family being important, his Heavenly Father was important as well. Serving Him built the foundation of his faith as he was a longtime member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Michael knew what it was like to work. He spent his career for more than 18 years for Pepsi-Cola of Lufkin and most recently was their Warehouse Manager. Michael is survived by his wife: Laura McDaniel of Nacogdoches, daughters: Heather McDaniel Glover and her husband Brandon of Livingston, Ashley McDaniel of Nacogdoches, and Allison McDaniel of Nacogdoches; brothers: Charles “Chuck” McDaniel and his wife Michelle of Louisiana, and Larry McDaniel and his wife Brenda of Nacogdoches; sisters: Theresa Carr of Tennessee and Gwen Stewart and her husband Mike of Florida; grandchildren: Kolten McDaniel, Remington Glover, Kayden Glover and Ryan Glover.
