Michael Schumacher May Be Awakened From Induced Coma Soon German Formula 1 driver Michael Schumacher, who has been in an induced coma at the Grenoble hospital since Dec. 29, may be woken up in upcoming days, after French doctors described his condition as stable. According to Mirror News, this is the first time doctors have provided a favourable report about Schumachers condition since he suffered a serious accident while skiing in the French Alps in December. Despite the promising news, the racing legend is not out of danger yet. If hes woken up from the induced coma, the seven-time Formula 1 champion might live with serious side effects for the rest of his life. Brain injury specialist Doctor Richard Greenwood of University College London Hospital recently told The Times that if the 45-year-old driver survives such a severe injury, he might not be the same Michael Schumacher. The specialist was pessimistic regarding Schumachers future. The doctor told The Times that in cases of brain injuries similar to Schumachers, there are extremely high risks of surviving with severe limitations and side effects. Its a very, very difficult process people [with these injuries] must go through. They have to accept their future limitations, the fact that theyve changed, said Doctor Greenwood. Schumachers manager confirmed on Thursday that the drivers condition is no longer critical, adding that he is currently stable at the hospital, according to The Economic Times. Considered by many as one of the best racing drivers in the world, Schumacher has managed to become a Formula 1 champion seven times, winning 91 awards and conquering the podium 155 times in his long career he is indeed a true champion. Our thoughts are with Michael Schumacher and his family and we wish him a full recovery in the course of time. Story courtesy of the Latinos Post latinospost
