Michael attends the opening of new pool at Northampton School for Boys with gold medallist Rebecca Adlington... I was very pleased to be invited to the opening of a brand new swimming pool and performance centre at Northampton School for Boys. The Edward Cripps Human Performance Centre was officially opened by Great Britain’s double Olympic Gold medallist Rebecca Adlington. We were shown around the amazing new centre, which includes a 6 lane state of the art swimming pool, a fitness suite and a brand new dance studio. It will also have the flexibility to be used for other aquatic sports like water polo. There was also a first class performance of modern dance in the theatre, which Rebecca and I found extremely impressive. NSB has a national sporting reputation with a long line of sporting alumni (including some Northampton Saints players) and I am sure this centre will serve as a breeding ground for British swimming champions of tomorrow.
