Michael says: Id like to share my story i would be honored if you could post it too. In 2010 i was going through a rough time in my life, I had just gotten a job that i wasnt going anywhere while i was there for 4 years. Before all that i was going through a divorce (divorced since 2009) My mom was going through cancer, my friends left me and i lost my faith and my will to play basketball. I have autism aspergers since i was in 4th grade. That has been a struggle of mine since then i had been beaten up , bullied to a point where i hid from people and just didnt want to be around. My General manager always always bullied me to a point where i didnt want to come back but i did. I have accomplished so much in my life to be proud of. In 2004 i graduated from a community college in Richmond with a B.A. Ten years later I am going back to school since September to learn a new career in my life. Warehouse Materials and Animal care. I have a huge passion to work with dogs because they make me feel at ease and calm my nerves when im nervous. In 2013 i found myself, God again, and love for basketball. I am on my church league for playing basketball i guess you could call me the 6th man ;) Before i left the team to start my journey i scored 8 points, 2 steals and 4 assists and 1 rebound. I have overcome alot of things in my life and starting my life over is one of them. I have never had my license for driving ever. I am taking a class this year for drivers ED and i actually passed my test today for the road signs. I used to have panic attacks and black outs whenever i took my test. Today is just one of those great days that i feel its just for me. For losing weight i went from 250 to 186 i may have put a little weight back on but i can control it. April is Autism awareness month and not only do i have that but i also support others. October was Anti Bullying month as well and i support as well. Since i have been in this school i have overcame so many obstacles and fears. At 31 years old i feel like im one of those sports players who retired and just came out of retirement. We all have our struggles and journeys. It is YOU who can change your own life. Thank you so much again for letting me be here. Its been a pleasure to see nice people and beautiful faces
