Mickey Mantle hit the first home run there. Elvis played there 7 times; and Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Jacksons, and Selena all had concerts there. I saw The Who in their first farewell tour there. Evel Knievel jumped 13 cars there and Billie Jean King beat Bobby Riggs in 3 straight sets there. Muhammad Ali may have had his best career performance there. The movies Brewster McCloud and The Bad News Bears in Breaking Training were filmed there, and U2 filmed the music video for Stuck in a Moment You Cant Get Out Of there. The Astrodome was added to the National Register of Historic Places in January, 2014, but it is still in danger of being torn-down.
