Mid-Grade Systems/Network Engineer Profile of position: Privately held, Atlanta based company seeking a top tier Mid-Grade Systems/Network Engineer to join our Federal team to install, troubleshoot, train and support cutting-edge IPTV and Full-Motion-Video streaming solutions at customer sites. Position will mainly serve Department of Defense and Federal Government customers. US Citizenship required. Former Military required. TS/SCI security is an advantage. Details of position: Responsible for onsite and remote installations, integration, testing and follow-up support of a broad range of IPTV technologies into: head ends, military bases, government facilities, telco and corporate sites. Installations, training and support include: encoders, decoders, transcoders, middleware, set-top boxes, video on demand, DRM, web servers, and mobile devices. Responsible to effectively lead customer technical engagements, troubleshooting, identification of complex systems and networking issues - all relative to IPTV deployments. Will often serve as sole Project Manager for installs from inception to completion. Responsible to deliver training sessions at customer sites to technical and non-technical audiences: Customer Service Representatives (CSR), Software Developers, Systems Integrators, Marketing/Business Managers and System/Network Engineers. Will need to be attentive and collect and compile collateral data to aid the Company’s technical support and technical sales teams at the Headquarters. Profile of great-fit candidate: 1. Target group E-6/E-7. Will consider E-5 with proper experience and maturity level. 2. Recent military experience with communications/electronics/networks. Contracting experience is an advantage. 3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting broadband IP and multicast networks. High-quality video technical depth in one or more of the following disciplines: IPTV middleware, video compression, ISR Metadata (MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, Internet Streaming), digital video receivers and decoders, satellite communications fundamentals, video servers, IP networking, set-top boxes, and Web-based client/server applications. 4. Hands-on experience with systems (Windows, Linux, MAC OS, Mobile systems). 5. Networking experience including knowledge in configuration of multicast, IGMP and other video protocols. 6. Demonstrated ability to deliver training materials for technical and non-technical audiences. 7. Strong oral and written communication skills. 8. Integral skills for success: interpersonal, cross-functional, planning, multi-tasking and organizational. 9. Must be able to quickly learn a broad array of technologies and apply knowledge to real-world problems. 10. High degree of customer-focused sensitivity towards both internal and external customers and partners. 11. A broad understanding of how major components fit into an end-to-end video broadcast headed system (advantage). 2 Education/Training: - Technical degrees desired. - Two or more years of IT systems /network /communications installation and support experience. - Cisco Network training / certifications is an advantage.
