Midland Fire Department Kids Boot Camp 2013 The Midland Fire - TopicsExpress

Midland Fire Department Kids Boot Camp 2013 The Midland Fire Department will host Kids Boot Camp from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10 at Grande Stadium (5514 Champions Drive). The camp will be full of activities that emphasize team cooperation, a healthy diet, physical fitness and fire safety. Kids will have planned activities such as tug-of-war, obstacle courses, calisthenics, and relays. There will also be a "smoke house" activity that allows kids to practice confidently escaping a house full of smoke. Parents can stay busy with activities such as a boot camp-style work out, blood pressure screening, and by creating identity packs that can help law enforcement agencies locate their child in emergency situations. To register, stop by Central Fire Station (1500 W. Wall St.) or visit midlandtexas.gov. Forms must be presented the day of Boot Camp and only one form per family is needed. Please register all group members at the same time. Family and friends can be placed in the same group and groups will be categorized by age of child. Parents must be present during the event. Children of all ages are welcome; however, events are focused on children ages 4-12. Participants are encouraged to wear athletic attire with tennis shoes and to bring a refillable water bottle. Gatorade and water will be provided. For more information, please contact Captain Aaron Cox at 685-7341.
