Mija had a good day today. She started her day with range of motion exercises, cross crawl exercises with the arms using the alphabet and numbers. Mija helped mom brush her teeth. PT and OT co-treated today. The physical therapist asked her to try to lift each leg forward one at a time. She was able to lift her right leg forward a little bit. The therapist then put a soccer ball in front of her and asked her to kick it. Mija had a good kicking movement one time. The therapist helped move her feet in a walking pattern to the standing frame. The OT had her painting a flower while she stood. Mija did not want to stop painting. She did a great job today in therapy. Mija stood and painted for over 30 minutes. In the sensory session, the therapists talked about the Chefs oops I mean the Chiefs win. They passed a nerf football around. When Mija got the ball, she threw it back to the therapist. They played the KC chop and everyone did it. Mija wasnt very excited about doing it (who can blame her)! They then switched to baseball. The entire group chanted Lets go Royals! Each person was handed a plastic baseball. Mija threw hers back to the thrower. She then held a bat and hit the baseball. Mija rested after the session. Before she got up, Aunt Denise came to see her. Since mom had to go to Salina tonight to take care of some business at her moms house, Denise planned to take Mija to Bingo and then give her a shower.
