Mike Schikora weekly blog: Spent the beginning of the week at a slower pace than normal, but by Thursday morning I was running! Fast! And I was ready for it. I was glad that I took a little time the previous week to accomplish some other projects and get them caught up and off my table. I knew that if I didnt by Thursday I would be in boot deep. I had three gigs in a row this past weekend, on top of working all day which amped up in its own right, the end of the week literally kicked my ass. The whole time I was running around purchasing lumber, drywall screws, whatever I needed to have everything here by Saturday morning for the group of GREAT FRIENDS that were coming out Saturday morning to help work on my barndominium. Special and grateful shout out to Dean Mahoney, Paul Burdick, Rob Woolheater, Tom Martin and a huge thank you to songwriter pal/contractor Mr. Rod Ballou! Taking time out from your busy lives away from the wives/girl friends and weekend day off to help me with this project is overwhelming, and I really appreciate it. I am feeling closer to being able to close a door and being in what I will call home very soon! I may not know exactly what it is I want out of this life, but I do know what I dont want. Does that make sense? As I plan out my goals and make sure I succeed at achieving them, I am finding out that I can put up with a lot more than even I would expect. When I stop and think about how I have chosen to go about the process, how Im living etc., it may be a bit unconventional but so what!? To some I know I appear out of touch, unaware of the world around me as everybody else stays abreast of current events. Its a conscious choice I make to not muddy my brain with a bunch of crap that a lot of people prefer to pay attention to. I am more aware of things than they realize, but I just dont give a shit! So I stay out of it. I prefer to spend a Sunday morning sitting on the fence watching my horses eat, look out at this beautiful view instead of turning on the TV and letting that dictate my day! Plus as I previously explained in the beginning of this blog, I dont really have time! HA! Until next week, cheers! Mike (PS-was this long enough this week Chris?)
