Mike update: HES HOME after 4 1/2 weeks in the hospital!! Ive been watching my sons incredible journey from a front row seat. While our family have had many challenges in the last few years, this one has touched my heart so deeply. When I got the call that Mike had been in another accident, I experienced incredible calmness. I felt, rather than knew, hed be ok. However, as I watched him hovering between life and death, that peace left me and I had to question where my faith lie. Miracles occurred but my eyes and ears were trying to lead me into a place of fear. But then... Mike showed up. His will so amazingly strong. He astounded all his nurses and doctors with daily improvement. Melissa and he took a field trip to the ICU yesterday. The nurse who was also with him during the last accident, could not believe he was having a conversation with the man not expected to survive, let alone that he would have walked into the ICU just 2 weeks later. So here we are, on the brink of the next part of the journey. Therapy and lots of hard work. We need his mind to cooperate and continue healing and I believe it will. The doctors will not give a prognosis in these cases so we dont have any assurances besides our belief. But if that were what it took for Mike, then we are home free. Please dont stop those prayers. They are being heard. Thank you all for your love and support.
