#MikeBrown | Im so very disgusted by the fact that some people (and media outlets) want to focus mostly on people who are breaking into stores in #Ferguson, Missouri and NOT on the righteousness of the protesters who are marching onward, standing up to the police - with their hands out-strecthed to the heavens, pleading for the police and the world to see that they are unarmed human beings who deserve to live peacefully without being terrorized by the state. When you focus your attention on the people in stores and not on the agony of the people in the streets who have been stripped of their dignity, who feel compelled to scribble their humanity on ripped up pieces of cardboard or on placards that read I Am A Woman and I Am A Man, then YOU are a part of the problem. It is convenient and cowardly to focus on the people in the stores than on the state of terror that we live in across this country; to assume that the police officer who shot and killed #MikeBrown would have never unloaded so many rounds if he (the officer) didnt feel he should have. If those arguments feel right to you, then I beg of you too, Dont shoot. Dont chokehold, dont write policy, dont legislate, dont lampoon or mock me, dont pity me or hold me in contempt. Either you will rise up to meet my humanity or, one day soon and in a variety of ways, your obnoxious ignorance will be the death of you.
