Miles George Leo OShaughnessy is 1 month old today! Massive massive thank you to all our friends and family for all your help, support, cards, presents, flowers, meals on wheels, shopping, play dates and even gifts for Orla (my birthing partner!). Youre all so kind and we feel very lucky!! For those of you who still dont know the story yet, my c-section was booked for last week but Miles had other ideas and decided he wanted out 3 weeks earlier! With no warning I went into full on labour at 9.30 am and he arrived, self delivered with no medical staff in the hospital car park at 10.20 am. He bungee jumped his way into the world but unfortunately he slipped out of my hands, the cord snapped and he landed on the Tarmac bumping his head. If Matt had been there Im sure he would have caught him, but thinking we were in for the long haul, he missed the delivery being an honest citizen and buying a car park ticket! As he says - hell never get that £3 back...! Orla however saw everything from her ring side car seat and will probably be put off childbirth for life!! Its been a worrying month with CT scans, monitoring, and other health issues but it feels like were coming out of the woods and he seems to be doing normal baby things like being awake at night!! Orla is taking her role of big sis very seriously and is being a brilliant helper (with pink ear defenders). Miles is an Irish name meaning little soldier, and hes certainly proved to be that. I get the feeling were going to be kept on our toes by this little chap! Xxx
