February 17, 2014 Free Medical Camp for Needy Organized by Bharat Seva Sansthan (BSS), India & Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America (AAPNA), USA, held at C.B. Gupta Gram Vikas Yojana Avam Sodh Kendra, Hathaundha, Kotwa Sadak, Faizabad Road, Barabanki-225405 U.P. India. More than 1200 patients were examined by ayurvedic, homeopathic, dental, medical doctors and distributed free medicines. February 15 &16, 2014 AAPNA conducted 10th International Conference on “Ayurveda & Lifestyle Disorders” in collaboration with Bharat Seva Sansthan, Lucknow, India. More than 150 participants presented in the multi-track conference. The conference is presented by more than 70 presenters including from various health disciplines – ayurveda, homeopathy, unani, allopathy (western medicine), yoga, pharmacogonsy etc. January 28, 2014 Yoga Gyan Jyothi – Center for Ayurveda & Yoga, LLC, USA joined as a Registered School of Ayurveda with AAPNA. July 1, 2013 AAPNA creates International Alliance with Cafe Ayurveda, Antalya, Turkey for the support and development of ayurveda. June 26, 2013 American University of Complementary Medicine (AUCM), CA, USA joined as a Registered School of Ayurveda with AAPNA. June 8 & 9, 2013 AAPNA’s 7th International Conference on “Ayurveda & Metabolic Disorders” conducted successfully at the University of British Columbia, The Asian Center, Vancouver, Canada. 3 noted celebrated guests of honor, 17 great presenters, 130 participants, 13 sponsors and exhibitors with diversified products and a room packed with eager learners made this conference a memorable event! We enjoyed two days of intensive learning of ancient wisdom , great food and laughter, in the natural setting of Asian center! Mr. Scott Sawler Director General NHPD emphasized the need of regulation of traditional medicine and the bringing support of Health Canada to enable innovation through reduction of unnecessary regulatory burden for multi-ingredient products that add value to the health of Canadians. Dr. Dave Scotten from Boucher Institute of Natural Medicine on the importance of natural medicine and bringing the knowledge of Ayurveda into natural medicine course curriculum. Dr. Arun Garg MD, FRCPC Program Medical Director at Fraser Health spoke about empowering individuals/families/communities to Lifestyle changes and social behaviors and reducing the gap between yoga and knowledge of ayurveda in prevalence of chronic diseases. The highlight of the conference was noted Ayurvedic scholar from India, Dr. J N Mishra, who presented on the evaluation of Ayurvedic options for Obesity management and its comparative significance. January 29, 2013 Chapel Hill College of Ayurveda, NC, USA joined as a Registered School of Ayurveda with AAPNA. February 18, 2013 AAPNA members visit Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India to discuss certificate and degree programs in ayurveda with the University Vice Chancellor, Academic Faculty and Administrative Staff. February 18, 2013 AAPNA conducts a one day Free Ayurveda and Homeopathy Integrative Medical Camp for Needy at the Grama Panchayat Office, Proddatur Village, Near Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. About 250 patients are examined, and free ayurvedic and homeopathic medicines are distributed. Thanks to the Himalaya Drug Company for conducting bone mineral density testing for 100 patients. February 15, 16, 17, 2013 AAPNA conducts its 6th International Conference on “Interface Between Ayurveda & Evidence Based Medicine (EBM)” at Pragati Resorts, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. About 180 ayurvedic professionals, integrative medical doctors, yoga experts, post graduate students of ayurveda and the press attend the conference.
