Minha cunhada Jennifer da Silva, da Alemanha, me perguntou o que é a PEC 37, e posto aqui a resposta para quem quiser dar pitaco: Jennifer, PEC 37/2011 is a "Proposed Constitutional Amendment" (in portuguese PEC). This proposes that the "Ministério Público" (Public Prosecution Service - organ that controls the activities performed by public servants in the country), which have access and almost unlimited powers to combat corruption, is forbidden to "investigate". According to PEC 37 this function would be exclusive to the federal and civil polices. That is why, unfortunately, the polices are almost broked, what let good conditions to the rich one to get free. The Brazilian people do not want that, of course, because the prosecutor or leads to jail or destroy (or attempt to) the political career of the corrupts. See what I posted, above: a petition that calls for changes in the law to control the politicians. On the agenda, I demand they comply with the laws they propose. It is to laugh or to cry??
